The AKC Canine Health Foundation has undertaken amajor bloat initiative to sponsor research into the causes and treatment of bloat (Gastric Dilatation Volvulus or GDV).
The Briard Medical Trust has committed to raising enough funding to become a Bloat Initiative Charter Sponsor at $10,000. The Briard Club of America generously donated $2,500 to start us off, and has designated an additional $2,500 from the BCA Donor Advised Fund at the AKC CHF to take us halfway toward our goal. We thank the BCA for its generosity.
To raise the remaining $5,000, the Briard Medical Trust is initiating a matching donation challenge: for every donation toward the bloat initiative by individuals, a club, or a business, the trust will match the donation 1:1 up to a total trust contribution of $2,500. The challenge will run through December 21, 2012.
